When they ask AI who should do the taxes

People ask for a CPA before April, a bookkeeper for a shop, or someone who understands a rental property. They ask who is taking new clients this season. A firm that says financial services and stops will not be the name.

Tax season is not the only ask

The questions are a personal return, a small-business return, sales tax, payroll, a messy set of books, or a notice from the IRS. People ask whether you are a CPA, an EA, or a bookkeeper, and whether you will meet in person. They ask about quarterly estimates and whether you work with restaurants, contractors, or rental owners. If you do not take a kind of return, say so before March.

Credentials and capacity

Publish the credentials, the services, and whether you are accepting new clients. Separate tax preparation from year-round bookkeeping. State your hours and what happens to the phone in April. The address and the meeting policy, in person or remote, should be explicit. The name on the license and the name on Google should match.

A page for the client you want

A contractor page, a rental-owner page, or a personal-tax page gives an assistant a true specialty to quote. Reviews that mention a small business, a first year of books, or a calm filing season are useful. Do not publish client results or savings you cannot stand behind. A deadline policy is more helpful than a slogan about peace of mind.

Capacity changes every winter

Sigma keeps the firm’s services and new-client status current. Citations start at $99 a month. Be the answer is $249 a month. Leads and advertising are separate and start at $5,000 a month each.

Who you will take before April

Say whether new clients are open, and for which returns. Personal, small business, rentals, payroll, and bookkeeping should be separate lines. CPA, EA, or bookkeeper is a fact, not a decoration. In-person versus remote should be explicit. April hours and what happens to the phone belong on the profile in March. If you do not take a restaurant, a contractor, or a messy first year of books, say the kinds of clients you do take. A notice from the IRS is a different engagement than a simple return. Do not publish savings claims. A deadline policy is more useful. The name on the license and the name on the door should match. When you close the new-client window, change the site the same day so people are not told you are available. Say what you need before a first meeting, such as last year’s return or a month of bank statements, so the booking is real.
